This week we clean up a few sidequests in Skyloft before heading back below the clouds in pursuit of the first Sacred Flame. After visiting Batreaux and fetching an item for Dodo on Fun Fun Island we return back to Faron Woods. Link gains access to Farore’s Silent Realm, which is a spooky alternate version of Faron Woods. While avoiding the terrifying and relentless Guardians, Link gathers the Sacred Tears and completes the first Trial.
Gifted with the Water Dragon’s Scale Link is now able to access more areas of Faron Woods, leading to the discovery of a Hermit Kikwi known as Yerbal. Yerbal points Link to Lake Floria, where the Water Dragon Faron resides. In Lake Floria, Link meets a Parella called Jellyf who eventually leads him to the Dragon and one step closer to obtaining the first Sacred Flame!

Last Time
Last time on Tandem Legends we faced off against The Imprisoned, managing to temporarily re-seal the enormous monster. The Old Woman told Link he must grow in spirit and strengthen his sword if he wished to save Zelda.
Link was tasked with searching for three sacred flames to temper the Goddess Sword. The first step on his journey lead him back above the clouds where he discovered the Isle of Songs, a location hidden away inside the Thunderhead. Within the Isle of Songs, Link learned the first of the Sacred Songs, Farore’s Courage, and learned he must use this song to gain access to the first Sacred Flame located somewhere in Faron Woods.

- Cawlin’s Love Letter
- I love the teen drama feel to this kind of thing
- Cawlin’s Love Letter
-
- Lumpy Pumpkin (balancing pumpkins and harp performance)
- Pumpkins took a few tries, but the harp was so. so. so hard.

- Fun fun island
- Batreuax update
- On our way! Really enjoying our little rewards so far.. heart pieces, wallets.
-
- Farore’s Silent Realm
- spooky
- Cool coloration. If presented differently it would be almost serene.
- Terrifying, the clanging bells and being chased around by the Guardians is horrible!
- Gathering Tears very similar to a Twilight Princess mini-game/mini-dungeon
- Actually this whole concept of a flipped or mirrored or skewed version of the overworld is a theme in Zelda!
- Link to the Past
- Link Between Worlds
- Twilight Princess
- Link’s Awakening kinda.

- Meet Parella
- Learn that Ghirahim recently lead his armies through Faron woods and against the water dragon
- This kind of stuff is both awesome and a let down. To hear that Ghirahim lead his armies against Faron sounds awesome, but we don’t get to see it 🙁

Music:
- Reversed Goddess Song
- Zelda’s Lullaby first featured in A Link to the Past as theme music for Princess Zelda, prominent use in Ocarina of Time and subsequent games.
- Fun Fun Island
- Nice game show feel at first, can almost see the spinning wheel as it plays. Subtle drum in back almost feels like a timer.
-
- Pumpkin Pastime
- Pretty chill despite how frenzied this game can feel
- Pumpkin Pastime
-
- Receive Tear Vessel
- Farore’s Silent Realm
- Bells or Chimes? Otherworldly, cold, still. Reminds me of the Ice Cavern in Ocarina of Time. Neat that it’s a remix of the Faron Wood’s theme.
-
- Guardians Awaken
- So interesting. Heavy electronic bass line, industrial sounds, and high notes on piano for the melody.. Sounds like several alarms overlapping sometimes.
- Guardians Awaken
-
- Tears Collected
- Inside the Great Tree
- That double bass portion reminds me of Wind Waker
- Lake Floria
- Whimsical, images of coral reefs and tropical beaches. French Horn/Oboe mix give it a certain sophisticated and orderly almost royal feeling.
- Faron’s Shrine
- Similar to the Lake Floria theme, pizzicato violin? Cello? Almost like a ballet
- The Dragons
- Incredibly reminiscent (you know, but in reverse) of the Kakariko theme in Breath of the Wild, so much so that I’m having a hard time figuring out whether or not they actually do borrow from each other or not. Breathy wind instruments, not very often we get distinctly eastern asian themes in Zelda.
